A broader offer for small-craft owners

VETUS watersports brand YellowV has announced an expansion of its inflatable portfolio, introducing kayaks and towable fun tubes while adding models to its stand-up paddleboard and inflatable-boat ranges. The October 8 announcement addresses several different activities rather than positioning a single craft as suitable for every outing. For leisure-boat owners under twelve metres, the significance is the variety of portable equipment that can be carried, stored and launched without a permanent berth.

The new products follow earlier YellowV designs that combined distinctive styling with lightweight, easily transported inflatable construction. Owners choosing an accessory for a small cockpit or locker need to consider packed dimensions and available inflation facilities just as carefully as appearance. A product that is technically transportable may still prove impractical if its bag, paddles and safety equipment consume the space needed for the rest of the crew.

Three kayaks use drop-stitch construction

The company's new kayak line comprises the YVKAYAK1P for one person, YVKAYAK2P for two and YVKAYAK3P for three. YellowV identifies lengths of approximately twelve, 13.8 and 15.4 feet respectively, placing them squarely in the portable small-craft segment. The design uses drop-stitch sidewalls and deck to create a stiffer hull form than a traditional low-pressure inflatable.

Those design choices aim to make paddling more responsive, but the three configurations do not promise identical handling. The manufacturer positions the single-person craft toward more experienced users, the two-person model toward agile touring and the longer three-person version toward distance on calmer waters. Buyers should still assess load limits, local conditions, inflation pressure and paddler ability before choosing a model.

New dinghies and touring boards

YellowV has also introduced three black-finished VB inflatable boats measuring 2.70, 3.00 and 3.30 metres. The black transom and benches complement the brand's familiar yellow accents, while floor options include full-black airdeck and clear aluminium configurations. Choosing between these products involves more than selecting a hull length: deck weight, rigidity, assembly time and compatibility with an appropriate outboard deserve attention.

For stand-up paddlers, the announced YVSUP13 Tugela is a thirteen-foot sport-oriented touring board, while the YVSUP14 Niagara extends to fourteen feet and is described for more sustained trips. These are relatively long boards, so storage and handling on shore may be less convenient than with an all-round recreational SUP. The benefit is the potential for more efficient progress when used in conditions suited to their designs.

Four towable tubes enter the catalogue

YellowV's new fun-tube range includes the single-person YVFUN1DON, two-person YVFUN2TRI, two-person YVFUN2DIS and two-person YVFUN2BAN. Their different shapes target variations in the towable-watercraft experience, but product names alone do not establish safe speeds or towing loads. The correct towing boat, tow point, rope, personal flotation equipment and an attentive observer are fundamental to safe use.

A towable designed for one or two riders should never be overloaded, and the driver should obey the manufacturer's operating guidance and any local watersports restrictions. For families using a compact powerboat, keeping the activity controlled and away from swimmers or navigation traffic is more important than pursuing maximum excitement. Every towable also needs a clear recovery plan if its riders enter the water.

A Savvy Navvy partnership and the next step

The expansion includes a partnership with navigation-app company Savvy Navvy, with YellowV customers offered a one-year subscription under the announced programme. Navigation software may help with route planning, but it should be treated as an aid to a properly prepared outing rather than a substitute for local knowledge, weather awareness or applicable navigation rules. Paddlers and tender operators remain responsible for matching their route to the craft and conditions.

YellowV says the expanded boat, kayak and tube lines are available from stock, while the two touring SUP models had an earlier stated availability window. Buyers should confirm current inventory and exact package contents with an authorised seller. The practical significance of this launch is a broader choice of genuinely portable craft, each with a defined role, rather than another universal promise that one inflatable will do everything.
