A Nordic cabin boat heads to Florida

Finnish builder Yamarin has confirmed it will present the Aura Cabin at the 2026 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, bringing its largest and most ambitious craft to a prominent American boating event. The show takes place from 28 October to 1 November, and Yamarin will meet visitors at the Broward County Convention Center.

The 12 October announcement describes the Aura Cabin as a new step up in size for a company that has previously displayed smaller boats in the United States. Its enclosed design is intended for recreational owners who value versatile use and protection from changing conditions.

The new flagship in context

The Aura Cabin is described as a 33- to 34-foot pilothouse cruiser, putting it in a size range suitable for family coastal boating rather than large-yacht operation. Its increased size allows the builder to combine outdoor relaxation areas with a more substantial protected interior.

Yamarin has been associated with Nordic boatbuilding for more than five decades, with an emphasis on sensible layouts and confident handling. The new model transfers that philosophy to a larger platform suited to longer trips.

A pilothouse that opens

The cabin uses large sliding side doors and fully opening aft doors to connect the saloon with the surrounding deck. This arrangement can create an open feel during warm weather while allowing passengers to retreat inside when the wind rises.

A frameless panoramic windscreen is designed to provide broad visibility from the helm. Yamarin quotes approximately six feet three inches of standing headroom, giving taller passengers more room in the main cabin.

Safe movement around the deck

The Aura Cabin has a wide walkaround arrangement, making it easier to move between the cockpit and foredeck. A clear side passage is useful when handling mooring lines, preparing fenders or moving about at a marina.

The layout is particularly relevant to couples who operate their own boat, although appropriate training is still essential. Side-deck access and handhold placement should be inspected aboard the actual exhibition boat.

A flexible bow for relaxing

A large bow sunbed creates an open-air area for guests to enjoy good conditions at anchor. Together with the spacious cockpit, it gives the boat a variety of spaces for relaxing away from the enclosed pilothouse.

Families can move between these zones according to the sun, wind and the day's activities. The precise cushions and accessories supplied may vary according to the selected specification.

Designed for Florida waterways

Yamarin highlights the boat's suitability for cruising on the Intracoastal Waterway, short offshore passages and afternoons spent at sheltered sandbars. These uses demand a balance between practical access to the water and protection for passengers.

The boat is not described as an unrestricted offshore passage-maker. Captains should always assess weather, range and the boat's certified limits before departing for a trip.

A Scandinavian approach to comfort

The manufacturer's design combines a protected wheelhouse with natural light and the ability to open the space during warmer weather. The main idea is to make a cabin boat feel connected to its outdoor surroundings rather than isolated behind fixed windows.

This can be attractive for owners in climates where conditions change during a single outing. It also supports casual entertaining without sacrificing a sheltered place to sit during an extended passage.

A new scale for US buyers

The Aura Cabin is entering a market with considerable demand for practical cruising boats that can be handled without a large crew. Buyers may appreciate the combination of Nordic design, a wide deck and the ability to enjoy the boat during different seasons.

Actual compatibility with an owner's dock, trailer or storage arrangements will depend on detailed dimensions and weight. Dealers should supply the specification and an appropriate purchase quotation.

Where to inspect the new model

Yamarin lists booth 2056 at the Broward County Convention Center, 1950 Eisenhower Boulevard, as its Fort Lauderdale location. The company is working with W-Yachts York Road Marine to meet prospective customers during the event.

The published schedule begins with a Wednesday preview and continues until Sunday 1 November. Visitors should confirm any appointment details and the exhibition stand before travelling.

A milestone for Yamarin in America

The builder's October announcement positions the new flagship as a broader offering for the US recreational boating market. It is a presentation of an established Aura Cabin model rather than a claim that it will make its first-ever world appearance at this show.

Prospective owners can examine the cabin, access arrangements and finishes in person and ask the dealer about equipment and availability. Final pricing, delivery dates and any optional features will depend on the individual configuration.
