A boat-show-season promotion

Yamaha Marine began 2026 with its Ready for Reliability sales event covering selected new four-stroke outboards. The promotion runs from January 5 through March 31, placing it directly across the main winter boat-show buying period.

Eligible 30 to 350 horsepower engines can receive two additional years of Yamaha Extended Service coverage on top of the standard limited warranty. Higher-horsepower 425 and 450 models can also qualify for added coverage.

For buyers already planning an engine purchase, extra coverage can improve the ownership package without changing the engine itself. The benefit is most relevant to owners who expect to keep the boat beyond the initial warranty period.

Warranty value depends on use

Extended protection can be useful on boats that see high annual hours or operate far from home. It may matter less to an owner who changes boats frequently or uses an engine only lightly.

As with any promotion, buyers should read the eligibility details rather than assuming every engine and transaction qualifies. Dealer participation, location and purchase timing can affect the final offer.

A warranty should also be considered alongside local service capability. Fast access to a competent dealer often matters more during the season than the theoretical length of coverage.

Planning a repower carefully

For LBG readers considering a repower, winter can be a good time to carry out the work before launch season. Dealers may also have more scheduling flexibility than they do once spring demand accelerates.

The promotion adds another reason to price a project early, but engine selection should still be based on the boat’s ratings, weight and intended use. The right installation remains more important than the promotion attached to it.
