Two senior marine appointments
Yamaha U.S. Marine Business Unit has appointed Bryan Seti as vice president of the Yamaha Boat Business Unit and Ben Mallett as vice president of Marine Development. The changes place new leadership across boat brands and future product development.
Seti will oversee the WaterCraft Business Group, G3 Boats and Skeeter Boats while also serving as president of Skeeter Products. Mallett will lead Product and Advanced Development teams at the Yamaha Marine Innovation Center.
Seti brings 27 years at Yamaha
Seti most recently served as General Manager of the Yamaha WaterCraft Group, overseeing U.S. sales and marketing for WaveRunners and sport boats. Yamaha credits his tenure with helping grow those categories and strengthen the brand’s market position.
He has also held industry roles including chair of the Grow Boating board and board positions with recreational-boating organisations. That gives the new Boat Business Unit leader experience beyond Yamaha’s internal sales structure.
Mallett moves from Bennett Marine
Mallett previously served as General Manager of Bennett Marine, the trim-tab business that became part of Yamaha Marine Systems in 2017. Yamaha says he led process changes that improved profitability and supported the company’s ISO 9001 certification.
His earlier operations and business-planning work included acquisitions, procurement and logistics. That background will now be applied to product and advanced-development activity rather than one individual component business.
Boatbuilding and development brought closer
The appointments come as marine products rely increasingly on integrated propulsion, controls and onboard technology. Strong links between boat operations and product development can help systems work together before they reach dealers and customers.
For leisure boaters, senior organisational changes matter when they influence the boats and systems that appear in future model years. Yamaha’s reshuffle puts experienced internal leaders in roles spanning both current boat businesses and the development pipeline.
