Four leaders from different parts of marine
The panel includes Fiona Richardson, VP of Global Human Resources at Brunswick’s Navico Group; Paulee Day, President and CEO of West Marine; Victoria Low, CEO of The Magenta Project; and Erna Rusi, CEO of Saxdor Yachts. Their backgrounds cover manufacturing, retail, people development, professional sailing and high-growth boatbuilding.
The session will focus on the future of the marine workplace and how businesses can build the next generation of leaders. Topics are expected to include recruitment, retention, talent development, inclusive workplaces and the effect of technological and commercial change on career paths across the sector.
Event reaches its fifth anniversary
The Women in Marine Industry International breakfast began in 2021 and has developed into a regular METSTRADE programme item. Organisers say the event is open to women and men at all career stages, from people entering the industry to experienced managers and senior executives.
Michele Goldsmith of the Soundings Trade Only Group will return as compere. The organisers describe the format as both a leadership discussion and a networking event, with the intention that attendees leave with practical ideas they can apply within marine businesses as well as new professional connections.
Breakfast scheduled for 18 November
The panel and networking breakfast is scheduled for Wednesday 18 November from 08:30 to 10:30 CET on the METSTRADE Stage at RAI Amsterdam. Attendance is free for registered METSTRADE visitors and exhibitors, although advance registration is required.
The event will also support Room to Read, with organisers seeking to raise funds for literacy and girls’ education. For the leisure-marine industry, the panel adds a workforce and leadership strand to a show more commonly associated with equipment, technology, manufacturing and supply-chain business.
