Williams Jet Tenders is displaying the new TurboJet 280MX and 320MX together at the 2026 Southampton International Boat Show. The two compact jet tenders sit alongside the SportJet 345, 395 and 435 on the company’s five-model stand.
The MX range was launched in August as a new entry point to Williams ownership. Both boats are far below LBG’s 12m limit and are relevant not only as yacht tenders but also as compact high-performance leisure craft.
TurboJet 280MX uses 60hp Rotax power
The smaller 280MX measures 2.79m overall and uses a 60hp BRP Rotax ACE 903 engine. Williams quotes seating for three adults and one child, with a maximum speed of 42mph.
Its dimensions are aimed at installations where garage space and launch weight are tightly constrained. Jet propulsion also removes an exposed propeller, although operators still need to keep swimmers clear of the intake and jet outlet.
320MX adds space and 90hp
The TurboJet 320MX grows to 3.19m and carries four adults plus one child. Its 90hp engine raises the quoted maximum speed to 45mph while preserving the compact layout of the MX family.
Williams says the larger model is intended for owners who need more passenger capacity without moving into a substantially bigger tender. Garage dimensions, lifting points and the parent boat’s launch system remain essential checks before choosing either size.
Five models can be compared side by side
The Southampton display runs through 27 September at Mayflower Park, with Williams exhibiting alongside dealer Boats.co.uk. Showing both MX models beside three SportJets gives buyers a useful direct comparison of size, seating and intended use.
For LBG readers, the MX pair illustrates how much performance is now packaged into boats around three metres long. The practical choice between them is likely to come down to storage limits, passenger needs and whether the additional 30hp of the 320MX is useful for the owner’s normal operating pattern.
