Tiwal has launched a new Max Kit for the Tiwal 3R, giving existing owners the option to expand the boat's sail plan. The kit is available with a jib, a gennaker or both sails together.

The jib is intended to sharpen upwind performance and improve response through tacks, while the gennaker is aimed at adding power and speed on downwind courses. The complete configuration gives sailors more flexibility to tune the boat for different conditions.

Tiwal has designed the upgrade around the same portable philosophy as the 3R itself. The kit includes the structural and control components needed for the additional sails while remaining packable for transport and storage.

For the small-boat market, the development is notable because it extends the life and capability of an existing platform through modular equipment rather than requiring owners to move to a different boat. That approach is increasingly relevant to sailors with limited storage or launching facilities.
