Tarbert Harbour is open year-round and says its marina remains accessible at all states of the tide. Its location on Lower Loch Fyne provides access toward the Firth of Clyde, Kintyre, the Crinan Canal and the western Scottish cruising grounds, while the harbour itself offers substantial shelter for winter storage afloat.
The marina has recently improved its shore facilities, including showers, disabled access, laundry and chandlery provision. Pontoons have fresh water and electricity, and the harbour team offers operational support through the winter, which is particularly useful for owners who live some distance from their boats.
Maintenance and winterisation support
Shipshape Marine operates on site and is offering winter-maintenance packages covering inspections, engine and machinery checks, batteries, corrosion prevention, fuel condition and winterisation. The harbour also offers storm video updates on request, topsides cleaning and monitoring of shore-power arrangements for customers who are away.
Those services make the offer more than a simple berth rental. For owners who keep a boat afloat through the Scottish winter, regular inspection and prompt attention to electrical, fuel or weather-related issues can reduce the risk of small problems developing while the vessel is unattended.
Rates and further harbour investment
Tarbert Harbour has published a 2026 winter-berthing rate of £146 per metre including VAT. It is also continuing a referral scheme, with rewards linked to the length of a new customer’s boat, as the harbour looks to grow its winter community.
A separate £2.2 million slipway project is under way, with additional parking and hard-standing space planned and lifting operations expected to begin in spring 2027. The combined investment indicates that Tarbert is positioning itself not only as a seasonal visitor stop but as a fuller year-round base for leisure craft.
