The market reached 4,642 registrations
ANEN's market report records 4,642 recreational craft registrations between January and September, compared with 4,339 in the same period of 2025. September itself contributed 271 registrations, which Marine Business reports was 6.3% higher year on year.
The figures cover the whole Spanish recreational market, but the strongest LBG relevance is at the smaller end. Boats up to six metres remain the dominant size band, showing that trailerable and entry-level craft still make up the core of national registrations.
Motorboats gained 16.2%
Motorboats were the largest category with 2,004 registrations, an increase of 16.2% and a 43.2% market share. Personal watercraft rose 1.1% to 1,319 units, while folding inflatables increased 8.2% to 555 registrations.
Those categories sit directly inside the LBG market and show continued demand for practical day-boating platforms. Rigid inflatables moved the other way, falling 4.1% to 473 registrations, while sailing boats were unchanged at 210.
Sub-6m craft still dominate the fleet
Boats measuring up to six metres represented 67.8% of all registrations, with 3,149 units and growth of 4.5%. Larger categories grew faster in percentage terms, but from a much smaller base than the compact-boat market.
For manufacturers and dealers, that split matters because headline growth in large boats can obscure where most customers actually buy. Small craft continue to generate the bulk of transactions and are more exposed to consumer confidence, finance costs and seasonal demand.
The Balearics led the regional market
The Balearic Islands recorded 733 registrations and a 15.8% share, followed by Barcelona with 541 and Madrid with 364. The Balearics also led charter registrations, underlining the strength of boating activity around the islands.
For LBG readers, the report suggests a broadly improving market while still showing mixed performance between categories. The strongest signal is that compact motorboats, personal watercraft and inflatables remain central to Spanish recreational boating.
