A walk-around boat close to twelve metres
The Solaris Power 40 Open is listed among the powerboats in Barcelona International Boat Show's 2026 fleet. Its overall length is 11.97 metres, with a beam of 3.85 metres, placing it just below Leisure Boat Guide's twelve-metre upper boundary. Solaris Power presents the boat as an open coastal cruiser that devotes considerable attention to safe movement and guest comfort.
The model features a flush deck running from the swim platform towards the helm, an arrangement intended to reduce steps and obstacles. For families using the boat at anchor or for short passages, the ease of moving around its exterior matters as much as the visual simplicity of the lines. A broad T-top is designed to provide shade over the driving and social areas.
Practical details outside and below
A full-size sunbed is set above storage space in the aft area, where items for swimming and anchoring can be kept. Solaris also emphasises a spacious principal cabin and a separate shower behind a glass door, an unusual feature for a boat in this size bracket. The interior can include an optional additional cabin depending on configuration.
Owners should inspect how much usable storage remains when all the cushions and optional equipment are aboard. The ability to reach the cabin comfortably after swimming, prepare simple refreshments and move along the deck without awkward steps will influence whether the boat feels easy to live with during a long day.
Different engines for different cruising patterns
Solaris lists twin Volvo Penta V6 petrol engines rated at 280 horsepower each as one arrangement. Optional diesel packages include twin D4 300, D6 380 or D6 440 power units. The manufacturer's speed figures vary accordingly, from about 30 to 41 knots at maximum, with quoted cruising figures between approximately 20 and 27 knots.
Those figures make clear why a boat's specific engine installation should be known before a buyer compares performance. Fuel use and maintenance access will differ materially, and the published top speed should not be treated as something achieved in every sea state. The 1,000-litre fuel capacity is substantial for the length but does not eliminate the need for passage planning.
A closer look at everyday ownership
The boat has a quoted twelve-person daytime capacity, one standard cabin with another available optionally, and a 250-litre freshwater tank. These figures serve different purposes: daytime passenger certification does not mean that twelve people can sleep aboard. Families planning overnight stays should ask precisely how many berths are provided by the version under consideration.
Barcelona gives visitors an opportunity to compare a highly open design with enclosed cruisers such as the Sealine C390. Both serve owners of similar-sized boats, but the balance of exterior living and sheltered accommodation differs greatly. The 40 Open's suitability rests on actual cruising habits, not simply a glossy deck plan.
