Experienced electronics specialist joins mounting-equipment supplier
Seaview has appointed Hans Rooker as national sales manager, drawing on almost three decades of marine-industry experience. Rooker joins the maker of radar mounts, electronics pods and watertight cable seals after more than 25 years with Standard Horizon Marine, where he worked in technical support, customer-facing positions and sales management.
The appointment was announced in a company release syndicated on 6 October. Seaview's products are generally installed behind the scenes of a boat's electronics upgrade, but correct positioning and cabling have an important role in whether a navigation or communications system performs reliably once the boat is underway.
Supporting dealers and installers
Rooker's new responsibilities cover domestic wholesale sales for Seaview and the APEX by Seaview line. He will also support distributors, independent sales representatives and dealers, attend marine trade shows and respond to technical and commercial enquiries. The company says he will be based remotely in Arizona and travel for customer visits as needed.
Seaview president Jason Romesburg highlighted Rooker's understanding of both practical product questions and the long relationships that connect equipment makers with trade customers. That experience may be particularly useful when a reseller needs to match a mounting solution to a particular antenna, radar, display or vessel arrangement.
The importance of equipment integration
Marine owners often focus on the new display, satellite terminal or radar itself. An installation also depends on how the equipment is mounted, protected from water ingress and connected to wiring routed through a moving, salt-exposed environment. Cable seals, properly selected brackets and suitable access for servicing all contribute to long-term reliability.
Some of Seaview's recent market activity has centred on connectivity mounts, including installations involving satellite internet equipment. The Seaview and APEX names serve different uses, but both involve mounting and environmental protection rather than offering navigation software.
The appointment does not introduce a new product or claim a change in customer pricing. It does show the company investing in a familiar element of the marine-equipment market: technical sales support for installers and distributors who need dependable answers before committing to a specification.
