A substantial outboard-powered bowrider

The Sea Ray SLX 310 Outboard has been listed for the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, running from 28 October to 1 November 2026. The model is aimed at owners who want an open deck for day outings without stepping into the size and operating needs of a much larger cabin cruiser.

This is a show appearance of a model already in Sea Ray's range, not a claim that it is making a previously unannounced world premiere. The exhibition gives visitors an opportunity to compare the outboard version with other Sea Ray layouts on display.

More than 33 feet overall

The manufacturer's specifications give the SLX 310 Outboard an overall length of 33 feet 10 inches and a beam of 10 feet 3 inches. Those measurements are relevant when reserving a home berth or deciding whether the boat suits frequently visited marinas.

The outboard installation changes the effective overall length compared with an inboard model of the same family. Buyers should confirm the exact dimensions, especially if they intend to keep the boat in a restrictive dry stack or use a lift.

Twin engines and joystick control

Sea Ray specifies twin 300-horsepower Mercury Verado outboards with joystick piloting as standard. The builder quotes a 33–39-mile-per-hour cruising range and maximum speeds of 54–61 miles per hour under published testing assumptions.

These are reference figures for specified conditions, not performance guarantees in rough water or with every passenger load. A proper sea trial should include manoeuvring close to a dock, sustained cruising and the noise level experienced by guests.

A social arrangement with a wet bar

Sea Ray describes large social spaces, ample seating and a standard wet bar for refreshments. The aim is to make the boat a base for swimming, conversation and an extended day afloat without asking passengers to gather around one small table.

Usable shade and safe movement between the bow and stern are important during hot weather. Buyers should inspect where personal items, lifejackets and watersports equipment can be secured when the boat is underway.

Fuel and water for longer outings

The current specification lists 158 US gallons of fuel, approximately 598 litres, and a 24-gallon freshwater tank. The manufacturer also quotes a 20-gallon holding tank, making onboard facilities part of the day-cruising equation.

The published estimated range depends on a specific load, speed and reserve assumption. Owners should calculate real fuel requirements using actual performance measurements and maintain appropriate contingency margins.

How the SLX 310 differs from smaller models

The SLX 310 Outboard offers a larger deck platform than Sea Ray's 280 Outboard, which is also listed for the show. That can provide extra seating and facilities but also brings higher fuel use, servicing and storage demands.

Owners should compare the two boats with their normal number of guests and their typical journey in mind. A larger boat may be attractive for entertaining, while a smaller vessel can be easier to manage if most outings involve only two or three people.

Make a detailed viewing appointment

The show directory demonstrates a planned exhibition, but the equipment aboard the individual boat may differ from the full options catalogue. Visitors should check with the dealer before making travel arrangements around a particular model.

A worthwhile inspection covers handholds, cockpit access, boarding arrangements, under-seat storage and the practical use of joystick piloting. Final buying decisions should follow a sea trial and review of local warranty and service support.
