Storage as part of the layout
Dedicated compartments keep loose bags and provisions out of the walking routes, while a three-position aft seat can face the cockpit or the swimming platform. Optional equipment includes an additional swim step and different comfort packages.
The layout needs to be assessed with the expected passengers aboard. An open dayboat is not a guarantee of shelter when the weather changes.
Engine arrangement
The official model page lists a Mercury MerCruiser sterndrive package, with a standard 250hp installation in its current US material. Other engine configurations are listed as options, so an owner should inspect the specific build.
Sterndrive access and the submerged propulsion unit require particular care when people are swimming. The engine and propeller must be safely stopped before boarding or entering the water.
Length, load and trailer
The builder quotes 7.06 metres overall, a 227-litre fuel tank, 21-degree deadrise and thirteen-person capacity or a maximum published 862-kilogram load. Dry weight without engine is around 2,124 kilograms.
The quoted dry weight is not the full road load. Trailer, engine, full tanks and all accessories must be included before selecting a tow vehicle and checking licence rules.
An established family option
The SDX 230 is an open-deck dayboat rather than the specialised SDX 230 Surf. The distinction matters when comparing watersports equipment and the expected use of the aft platform.
