Saxdor is expanding its Polish manufacturing footprint with a second 10,000-square-metre production facility in Ełk. The company says the additional space is needed as output grows and newer, larger models demand more room on the production line.
The expansion follows strong demand for the 460 family, but the extra capacity also supports a brand whose range includes several boats within Leisure Boat Guide's under-12m market. Saxdor already operates substantial production infrastructure in Poland alongside facilities in Finland.
Bigger boats require more factory space
Larger models consume more floor area at every stage of assembly, from moulding and fit-out to testing and material handling. Saxdor says the additional Ełk facility will help relieve that pressure as the 460 GTC and 460 GTS move through production.
The company has said demand exceeded earlier assumptions for the 460 platform. Expanding capacity reduces the risk that one successful model crowds smaller boats out of the factory schedule.
Poland remains central to Saxdor production
Saxdor's Polish operations are a major part of its serial boatbuilding system, while its Finnish facilities add further production and development capacity. The two-country structure gives the company room to allocate different models and projects according to size and production needs.
For buyers, factory expansion matters when it improves lead times and consistency rather than simply adding square metres. The real test will be how quickly the new space reaches stable output and whether quality control scales with production.
Growth affects the whole dealer network
More production capacity can support dealer stock, demonstration boats and replacement availability across multiple markets. It can also increase demand on suppliers of engines, electronics, upholstery and other components used across the Saxdor range.
The expansion does not itself guarantee higher sales, but it shows the company is preparing for greater output. Leisure Boat Guide will watch for confirmed changes to production volumes and delivery times for sub-12m Saxdor models.
