Navigation software and on-water assistance are being linked
Savvy Navvy and Sea Tow have announced a US partnership intended to combine digital route planning with on-water assistance and safety information. Sea Tow captains at more than 100 franchise locations are being given Savvy Navvy Premium accounts, while Sea Tow members receive subscription benefits and access to additional safety resources.
The arrangement connects two different parts of the boating-support market rather than merging the services themselves. Savvy Navvy remains focused on navigation and voyage planning, while Sea Tow continues to provide assistance through its captain and franchise network.
Fuel planning is a central part of the collaboration
Savvy Navvy can calculate routes using vessel speed and fuel-efficiency information together with environmental conditions. The system can estimate how weather and sea state may affect expected fuel use and dynamically update estimated arrival times as a voyage progresses.
Sea Tow says fuel costs are an increasing concern for its members, with its 2026 survey showing fuel as the expense most often identified as having risen. The partnership therefore links safety planning with an everyday operating-cost issue rather than treating navigation purely as a charting function.
Connected boating services are becoming more integrated
Owners increasingly use several separate apps for weather, routing, marina information, maintenance and emergency support. Partnerships between those services can reduce the gaps between planning a passage and obtaining help when something changes on the water.
For superyacht operations, the direct application is strongest on tenders, chase boats and crew craft operating away from the mothership. The broader significance is the continuing shift toward software-led marine services that combine navigation data, local support networks and real-time operating information.
