Sasga Yachts has detailed the production specification for the Menorquín 36 Open, an 11.23-metre dayboat that brings the Menorcan builder’s traditional design language into a more open, outdoor-focused format. The model was introduced during Sasga’s Palma International Boat Show programme and now has a complete official technical page with its final principal dimensions, capacities and engine options.
An 11.23m open interpretation of the Menorquín
The 36 Open measures 11.23 metres overall under the CE specification, with a 9.07-metre hull length, 3.80-metre beam and 1.10-metre draft. Sasga lists a light displacement of 6,500kg and a loaded displacement of 8,650kg.
The basic idea is to retain the rounded, Mediterranean character associated with the Menorquín range while moving the emphasis toward day use. Large sunbathing areas, folding tables, an outdoor galley and a substantial hardtop create a deck intended for swimming, lunch at anchor and social cruising rather than prioritising an enclosed saloon.
Twin engines and a 28-knot maximum
Sasga lists two twin-engine packages, at 2 x 270hp or 2 x 320hp. The builder quotes a maximum speed of 28 knots and cruising speeds up to 23 knots, giving the model substantially more pace than the slow-cruising image sometimes associated with traditional Menorcan-style craft.
Fuel capacity is 650 litres and fresh-water capacity 350 litres. Those figures are significant for an 11-metre dayboat because they allow the boat to support longer coastal days and short cruising periods without forcing the deck plan toward a larger enclosed accommodation volume.
Outdoor spaces are the defining feature
The main deck is arranged around large forward and aft lounging zones, with folding headrests and tables allowing the same areas to change between sunbathing, seating and dining. The hardtop provides shade over the centre of the boat while leaving the bow and stern visually open to the water.
At the stern, an enlarged bathing platform reinforces the dayboat focus. Rather than treating swimming access as a secondary appendage, the platform and aft seating are designed as part of the principal social area, which aligns the model with the wider Mediterranean trend toward water-level living spaces on relatively compact boats.
