Sardinia’s marine-industry show enters a new phase
The Fiera Nautica di Sardegna is being relaunched as the Sardinia Boat Show and will move from Porto Rotondo to Olbia Waterfront for its 2027 edition. The event is scheduled to run from 29 May to 6 June at Porto Vecchio in central Olbia.
CIPNES Gallura presented the new format during the Genoa International Boat Show together with regional and port authorities. The move gives the event more space ashore and afloat and is intended to support a wider range of vessels, including superyachts.
Industrial development becomes a larger part of the event
The organisers are placing boatbuilding, refit, repair and related marine services at the centre of the new format. Dedicated areas are planned both for Sardinian companies and for international businesses considering investment or production activity on the island.
The exhibition is also being used as part of a wider internationalisation strategy for Sardinia’s marine economy. That includes promoting local yards and suppliers overseas while encouraging foreign operators to inspect production areas, port infrastructure and potential industrial sites in Sardinia.
Olbia offers stronger transport and marine links
The timing was chosen to coincide with the start of Sardinia’s boating season and a broader international flight schedule, including additional direct New York service planned for 2027. Olbia’s port, airport and existing yacht activity give the show a stronger connection to both visitors and industrial buyers.
For the superyacht sector, the shift is relevant because Sardinia already has a mature cruising market but is seeking greater industrial weight in refit, maintenance and production. A larger international trade event in Olbia could help connect that cruising demand with longer-term investment in the island’s marine supply chain.
