The RS21 World Championship is heading to France for the first time, with Yacht Club de Cannes hosting the event from 28 to 31 October 2026. RS Sailing announced that entries were open as the international one-design fleet began its final countdown to the championship.

The manufacturer and class expect around 50 boats, with teams travelling from multiple countries. Cannes adds a Mediterranean venue to an event that has developed alongside the continued international growth of the RS21 fleet.

The RS21 is a small keelboat designed around close one-design racing and a crew-based sailing experience. Its size and class format keep it within the leisure sailing market covered by LBG while giving owners access to an organised international competition programme.

For a production boat, a growing championship circuit can be as important as the initial model launch because it supports resale, owner activity and fleet development. The Cannes event provides another measure of the RS21 class's reach beyond its original markets.
