ROTO Nautica is presenting an electric version of the HYDRA 450 Family in Interboot 2026's My First Boat area. The official show listing gives a length of 4.5m, beam of 1.8m and weight of 280kg.
The displayed specification uses one 4.4kW electric motor and has a published maximum draft of 0.3m. That combination targets quiet, low-speed leisure use rather than high-performance planing.
A compact family platform
The HYDRA 450 Family is the leisure-oriented version of ROTO's rotomoulded small-boat platform, with a side console and open seating. The manufacturer promotes the hull for daily trips, relaxed cruising and use as a support boat.
Capacity can reach seven people in some configurations, although certification category and local rules affect the permitted load. Buyers should use the plate and documents supplied with the individual boat rather than relying only on general model literature.
Electric power changes the ownership equation
A 4.4kW motor keeps the propulsion system relatively simple and can suit waters where speed is restricted or combustion engines are discouraged. The trade-off is that owners need to think about battery size, charging access and the range required for a normal day.
At only 280kg before some equipment, the electric HYDRA also remains a comparatively light craft to transport and launch. The complete towing weight will still rise once batteries, motor, trailer and boating gear are added.
First-boat positioning is deliberate
Interboot is placing the model in its My First Boat display, where visitors can compare small craft intended to make ownership less intimidating. The HYDRA's low weight, open layout and modest propulsion output fit that theme closely.
Prospective owners should nevertheless check licence rules, battery warranty and charging requirements in their own country. Electric propulsion can reduce noise and routine engine servicing, but it introduces a different set of planning considerations.
