MyRA 2.0 moves voyage planning into a browser-based workflow

Teledyne Raymarine Commercial has launched MyRA 2.0, a web-based voyage-planning and route-appraisal platform designed to connect onboard navigators with shore-based fleet teams. The system combines route intelligence, weather, regulatory information and automated compliance checks in one environment.

Because the platform runs through a browser, operators do not need to maintain a separate local software installation for every user. Crews and shore teams can work from the same planning information, helping reduce differences between vessel and office versions of a route.

Automated checks target compliance workload

MyRA 2.0 validates voyage plans against routing regulations, chart status, notices to mariners and navigational warnings. The system also creates activity logs and traceability intended to support inspections, vetting and internal fleet-management reviews.

Completed plans can be prepared for ECDIS use, while company templates and configurable outputs allow operators to standardise procedures across multiple vessels. Weather-optimised routing adds another layer for fleets balancing safety, time and fuel consumption.

Connected planning also has relevance for large yachts

The product is aimed primarily at commercial shipping, but large yachts increasingly operate with professional bridge teams, shore managers and compliance requirements that resemble smaller commercial fleets. Shared route planning can therefore be useful where captains, managers and operations teams need visibility of the same passage information.

Raymarine Commercial says the platform builds on ChartWorld’s digital-navigation expertise and its continuously maintained routing database. The next measure will be adoption across fleets and whether the connected workflow reduces planning time without weakening the judgement expected from professional navigators.
