An eight-metre sun deck boat built for longer stays
The Quicksilver Activ 875 Sundeck appears in Barcelona International Boat Show's 2026 official fleet, listed at 8.74 metres overall and three metres wide. It focuses on a large bow sunpad, yet the manufacturer also provides four sleeping berths below. This gives owners the prospect of extending a day outing into a weekend without immediately moving to a larger enclosed family cruiser.
The model's significance is its use of space. Quicksilver claims one of the largest forward sun lounges in the class while retaining social seating in the cockpit. Visitors should still examine whether the sunpad can be reached securely, particularly when the boat is rocking, and where its covers can be stored.
A cockpit with multiple arrangements
The cockpit uses flexible U-shaped seating and folding sections to provide an outdoor dining area, a place for relaxed conversation or a larger lounging surface. Integrated food-preparation equipment includes a sink and a cooking option, with a refrigerator and other comforts depending on the selected package. A layout with multiple configurations can serve different groups without requiring a different boat for each activity.
The ability to change a seating arrangement matters less if loose components cannot be stowed safely. During a visit, owners can ask to see the complete conversion and inspect how passengers board past the transom. A cockpit that looks very open at anchor should also have dependable seating and handholds for a moving boat.
Four berths do not equal twelve overnight guests
Quicksilver's specification lists four berths and a daytime passenger capacity depending on the relevant CE operating category. The product information quotes up to twelve persons in category C and up to ten in category B, under the stated conditions. These limits have different meanings and should never be confused with the practical number of people a family can accommodate comfortably overnight.
The product sheet also identifies an integrated fuel tank with capacity around 450 litres, a 100-litre freshwater tank and maximum power of 500 horsepower. Such figures help with planning but do not establish a fixed cruising range. Actual fuel burn, loading and reserve policy require careful assessment.
The questions that matter for purchase
A typical owner may alternate short runs to nearby beaches with occasional visits to another harbour. For those journeys, the boat's suitability depends on helm visibility, wet-weather protection, engine support and the comfort of the cabin after sunset. Storage for bedding, clothes and safety gear will determine whether overnight accommodation proves genuinely convenient.
At Barcelona, the Activ 875 can be compared with conventional open bowriders and enclosed cabin craft of similar length. The design is established rather than making a new world premiere in October 2026. Buyers should obtain a dated equipment list showing whether the displayed galley, electronics and cooling equipment are standard or optional.
