A six-boat display in Brittany

Quicksilver has set out its display for Le Mille Sabords 2026 at Port du Crouesty in Arzon, Brittany, bringing four Open-series models and two Sundeck boats to the event from 29 October to 1 November. The important news for shoppers is the presence of the recently introduced 625 Open alongside the familiar 555, 705 and 805 Open, plus the 675 and 755 Sundeck. These are six named models, rather than an unspecified range, so visitors can plan a practical comparison before making the trip.

Le Mille Sabords is particularly relevant to buyers trying to establish the value of a new boat against pre-owned alternatives. The organising association describes the show as a mix of new and used craft, displayed both afloat and ashore. For a buyer, that creates a useful opportunity to ask two different questions on the same day: what has improved in the latest design, and which features really matter after several seasons of ownership?

Quicksilver names Chantier Maritime du Crouesty, Atlantic Bateaux, Port Deun Marine and Atlantic Passion as the dealer partners involved. Port Deun Marine's own show notice separately confirms its presence and lists the 625, 705 and 805 Open together with the two Sundeck models on land. That dealer corroboration supports the manufacturer's display announcement, although it does not establish that every boat will be open for boarding throughout every hour.

The new 625 Open beside the smaller 555

The 625 Open deserves particular attention because it is the newest boat in this selection. Quicksilver introduced the revised design in September, replacing the long-running 605 Open. The published dimensions are 6.46 metres overall and 2.40 metres in beam, with capacity for seven people and a maximum stated power of 150 hp. A 160-litre fuel capacity and 0.38-metre draft appear in the manufacturer's launch specifications; owners should confirm the build year and options on the actual exhibition boat.

The extra value of a walk-around inspection lies in details that photographs can conceal. The 625's redesigned console, easier movement toward the bow and flexible seating are central to the maker's proposition. Prospective owners should physically trace how passengers leave the cockpit, how lines are handled at a marina berth and how a picnic table or sun-lounge arrangement changes the available deck area. A seven-person rating is a maximum capacity, not a promise that seven adults and all their gear will enjoy identical comfort on a long outing.

The 555 Open is the more compact counterpoint, at a manufacturer-listed 5.84 metres, six-person capacity and up to 115 hp. It is the logical starting point for someone focused on short coastal days, manageable marina arrangements and a simpler equipment list. The key comparison is not simply purchase price or an extra passenger place: ask for the all-up weight of the chosen boat-engine-trailer combination, available storage, engine service access and realistic seating with the family aboard.

705 and 805 Open: more room, different compromises

Moving up, the 705 Open is listed at 7.16 metres and up to eight people with a maximum 225 hp engine. That larger platform changes how a boat may be used, especially if owners regularly carry visiting friends or tow water-sports equipment. Yet a larger boat also brings practical questions about transport, berth availability, annual storage and the amount of power needed for the intended load. Compare usable cockpit space and safe circulation before treating overall length as a direct measure of comfort.

The 805 Open sits at the larger end of Quicksilver's announced Open display. Its headline specifications are 7.66 metres, capacity for up to ten and maximum stated power of 300 hp. Quicksilver describes adaptable bow seating, a cabin and optional fishing-oriented equipment. Buyers should ask whether the show example is configured primarily for entertaining, angling or mixed use, because extras such as a T-top, electronic displays or a different cockpit module can materially change the final specification and price.

Two boats with similar advertised deck layouts can behave very differently in daily use. A family may prioritise shade, an accessible swim platform, a sensible toilet arrangement and dry storage, whereas an angler may put working space, rod handling, deck wash facilities and movement along the rails first. Bring a written use-case and have the dealer demonstrate each arrangement on the actual hull. This is more revealing than comparing photographs of fully optioned marketing boats.

Why the Sundeck pair matters

The 675 Sundeck and 755 Sundeck form the other half of Quicksilver's announced Crouesty display. The 675 carries a published overall length of 7.16 metres, up to eight passengers and a maximum 225 hp rating. The 755 is listed at 7.62 metres, also up to eight passengers but with maximum power of 300 hp. Manufacturer specifications for both describe two berths, pointing to a different balance of deck lounging and occasional overnight capability than the open-console alternatives.

The Sundeck arrangement appeals to people who expect the boat to serve as a comfortable base at anchor as well as a means of travelling between ports. On the 675, check access to the forward lounging area, the amount of shelter and how the cabin actually works when used for changing clothes or a short rest. On the 755, spend time in the cockpit with the seating configured for a meal, then examine the route aft to the bathing platform and the ease of reaching the side deck.

It is worth resisting simplistic claims that an enclosed berth automatically makes a dayboat a cruiser. The experience depends on ventilation, toilet facilities, water arrangements, shore-power options, heating where appropriate and sensible stowage for bedding and bags. Ask exactly what is standard, what comes through the Smart Edition or another package, and what the demonstration craft has fitted. A show boat is a specification example, not necessarily the least expensive version advertised.

What to ask before agreeing a quotation

Le Mille Sabords offers a concentrated opportunity to collect like-for-like quotations. Request a price that separately identifies the hull, exact Mercury outboard, steering, battery configuration, electronics, safety equipment, transport or commissioning, antifouling if relevant, taxes and delivery. If a dealer quotes a package, ask for a signed itemised list so that comparison with a second supplier remains meaningful. The technical sheet should state whether capacities and horsepower limits apply to the precise model year being offered.

Next, discuss ownership realities. What annual engine service intervals apply to the selected propulsion package? Where is the closest authorised service point? What warranty terms cover the hull and installed equipment, and who deals with a fault found soon after delivery? It is also worth arranging a sea trial, where available, with a load similar to normal family use. A boat that feels spacious on a static stand can seem very different under way when passengers want a sheltered seat.

The show's used-boat emphasis adds another question: how will the new model hold its appeal as the owner changes activities? Someone buying primarily for sunny day trips may later need fishing space, towing capability or easier access for older family members. The best purchase is often the design that handles the foreseeable uses competently, not the craft with the longest optional-equipment list. Treat claims of fuel economy or speed as test-dependent and ask for demonstrable figures for the actual boat and engine combination.

Dates, venue and verification

The manufacturer gives the show dates as Thursday 29 October to Sunday 1 November 2026 at Port du Crouesty, Arzon, on the Golfe du Morbihan. Quicksilver advertises admission as free and gives 10:00 to 18:00 as its visiting hours. The official event association independently confirms the dates and venue, but individual stand availability and the general site opening arrangements should be checked close to travel. Dealers can also confirm whether a particular boat is afloat or ashore.

For anyone selecting a first motorboat, a focused itinerary will be more useful than trying to inspect everything. Compare the 555 and 625 first, then use the 705 and 805 to understand what additional space does for the intended crew. Finally, step aboard the Sundeck models and decide whether accommodation below and larger lounging areas justify a different compromise. Photograph specification plates only with permission, note options on each hull and keep each dealer's written answers.
