Nordic shelter at a Mediterranean boat show
Barcelona International Boat Show lists the Quarken 35 among its October 2026 exhibitors. The Finnish builder’s 35 Cabin Tourer measures 10.68 metres overall with a beam of 3.48 metres, placing it within LBG’s under-12-metre sector. The enclosed cabin and flexible outdoor areas offer a notably different proposition from open sportsboats intended principally for summer use.
Quarken’s design aims to combine a sheltered environment with enough exterior space for swimming and socialising. Large cabin windows, a glass roof panel and a sliding side door give the helm and seating area expansive visibility. Prospective owners should evaluate sun protection and ventilation as well as the benefits of a protected cabin.
Two Yamaha engines and a stepped hull
The standard configuration uses twin Yamaha F300 outboards, while the manufacturer lists optional higher-output installations. Quarken publishes a top-speed estimate around 44 knots for the specified arrangement, but that figure depends on equipment and sea conditions. Its twin-stepped hull is intended to deliver responsive performance while maintaining a comfortable cruising attitude.
The published tankage includes approximately 695 litres of fuel and 120 litres of fresh water. A substantial range should never be inferred from tank size alone. Performance, fuel use and the requirement for reserve fuel should be assessed using realistic loads and the individual itinerary.
Turning the cabin into a larger social space
An opening aft window and glazed door allow the sheltered cabin to connect with the cockpit, while manually opening side terraces increase usable space at anchor. The aft area can be arranged for seating and relaxation. A forward sleeping area, separate toilet and shower make the boat potentially useful for weekends with a small family.
The manufacturer lists accommodation in several combinations rather than one fixed plan, so purchasers should establish which sleeping arrangements come with the build being offered. Practical points include storage for wet coats, maintaining cabin temperature and reaching the engines and batteries without major disassembly.
Why the model suits changing seasons
The Quarken 35 Cabin Tourer is positioned as a vessel for travel across different climates, not solely a fair-weather tender. That may interest owners who use their boats during spring and autumn and prefer not to depend entirely on sprayhoods or removable covers. The manufacturer’s available equipment packages need careful comparison.
Its inclusion at Barcelona lets prospective customers assess how a Scandinavian all-weather concept works in a Mediterranean marina. It is an existing model, not a newly announced 2026 world premiere. A trial in representative conditions and a discussion of after-sales support are essential before choosing an engine or optional package. The opening side terraces are primarily for stationary use and should be demonstrated with their locking procedures. Owners also need to know how the boat’s greater width will affect manoeuvring alongside pontoons and the seasonal cost of an appropriately sized berth.
