A flagship steps into the Florida show
Pursuit's OS 445 is the largest model in the American builder's range and is among the boats drawing attention at the 2026 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. The manufacturer introduced the Offshore flagship at a dealer and media event in August before bringing it to the autumn show.
For a buyer, the significant question is how a large offshore fishing boat can serve longer stays aboard without losing the practical working cockpit that defines the type. Pursuit's answer is to combine fishing capability with accommodation and social space normally associated with a cruiser.
The published length overall is 46 feet 6 inches including its platform, or 14.17 metres, with a beam of 13 feet 10 inches. Those numbers position it at the substantial end of the owner-operated outboard market, where a slip reservation, fuel budget and docking plan warrant serious attention.
Living spaces beyond a fishing cockpit
The bridge deck uses a galley-up arrangement, putting food preparation near the primary social seating instead of hiding it below. This makes sense for parties that spend much of the day moving between an open-water run, a sheltered meal and a period at anchor.
Forward, recessed bulwarks help connect the cockpit to a foredeck cabana and lounge. The separation between passageways and seating matters because guests need to move safely while others remain comfortable, particularly when the boat is rolling at slow speed.
Below, two staterooms provide overnight accommodation rather than just a small changing berth. The ability to stay away for a night or more expands the appeal beyond day fishing, although buyers should inspect headroom, ventilation and storage personally before assuming the layout suits their family.
Power and range require careful reading
Pursuit lists a maximum power allowance of 1,350 horsepower, with a triple Yamaha F450 installation among its configurations. The manufacturer's specifications show a 600-US-gallon fuel capacity, a 100-gallon freshwater tank and a separate diesel supply for the generator.
Those figures indicate the scale of systems aboard, but they are not a promise of range or speed in every condition. The company itself notes that usable fuel can be affected by installation, loading and regulation, so operating figures should be evaluated against tested data and realistic reserves.
A wide beam also changes the responsibilities of ownership. Before paying attention to performance claims, prospective owners should establish where the boat can be berthed, who will maintain the propulsion and onboard systems, and whether the configuration matches their actual cruising grounds.
A more useful way to judge the OS 445
The OS 445 sits between familiar categories, and that is its strength for some owners. It offers the open-air flexibility of a fishing-oriented boat while giving a family a defined place to cook, rest and sleep, rather than forcing one activity to displace another.
At Fort Lauderdale, buyers have an opportunity to test that combination by walking the route between helm, galley, foredeck and cockpit. Ask how the seating converts, where fishing equipment lives when guests are aboard and how easy it is to move around with wet gear.
The owner should also investigate emergency access, service clearances and the ordinary work of maintaining three large outboards. The most sophisticated arrangement is only successful if it can be managed comfortably on days when a professional crew is not part of the plan.
Pursuit's latest flagship deserves attention because it addresses a genuine use case: a sizeable platform for offshore days that remains comfortable when the trip extends into an overnight stop. The manufacturer's current specification and show presentation offer a starting point, while a proper sea trial and independent inspection remain essential before purchase.
One practical test during the show is to picture a difficult day rather than a sunny demonstration. Can a crew work safely on the foredeck, reach the anchor controls, clear a blocked drain and organise lines while passengers remain out of the way? The OS 445's larger size creates an opportunity for better separation of tasks, but each of those questions should be answered on the particular build and equipment selected.
