The 2026 Discover Boating Norwalk Boat Show opens at Norwalk Cove Marina on 24 September and runs through 27 September, marking the event's 50th anniversary. The show combines new boats, engines and marine equipment with a larger programme aimed at first-time and returning boaters.
Organiser NMMA says the anniversary edition is designed to give visitors more structured help with choosing, buying and operating a boat. That shifts part of the emphasis from simply displaying products toward practical ownership education.
Captain's Cove adds a new education hub
New for 2026 is Captain's Cove, an interactive area bringing together boating experts and ownership resources. Topics include choosing a boat, basic maintenance, docking and alternatives to full boat ownership.
The aim is to reduce the information gap that can make a first purchase intimidating. Visitors can ask practical questions before comparing boats on the pontoons and exhibitor stands.
Guided tours target different types of visitors
The show is also introducing expert-led Boating 101, Meet Your Match, Engine Alley and On-Water Lifestyle tours. Each route is intended to help visitors focus on the part of the show most relevant to their experience or buying plans.
Free boat rides, on-water classes, kayaking and paddleboarding demonstrations continue alongside the guided programme. These activities give newcomers a chance to experience boating before making a purchase decision.
Four-day show runs through Sunday
Norwalk is open Thursday through Saturday from 10am to 7pm and Sunday from 10am to 5pm. The venue remains Norwalk Cove Marina in Connecticut, with hundreds of boats and marine products expected across the event.
For LBG, the show is particularly relevant because much of the displayed market consists of sub-12m family boats, centre consoles, day boats and small cruisers. The 50th-anniversary programme also provides useful evidence of how boat shows are placing more emphasis on education and participation.
