New leadership for two marine brands
Teledyne has promoted Michelle Hildyard to general manager of Teledyne Raymarine and Teledyne FLIR Marine. Based in Fareham, she will report to Teledyne Marine Imaging group president Gregoire Outters.
The role covers strategy, product development and commercial execution across both businesses. It also gives Hildyard responsibility for bringing operations and product planning together as marine electronics become increasingly integrated.
More than two decades of experience
Hildyard has more than 20 years of experience across marine technology brands. Before the promotion she served as vice president of operations, leading work across supply chain, engineering and product management.
That background gives the new general manager direct experience of the practical issues behind product availability and development. For boat owners, those operational decisions can be just as important as the specifications announced at launch.
Raymarine and FLIR Marine together
Raymarine covers navigation, sonar, radar, autopilots and broader vessel electronics, while FLIR Marine brings specialist thermal imaging. Managing both under one leader creates an opportunity to coordinate products that increasingly share networks and displays on the same boat.
The marine-electronics market is moving toward connected ecosystems rather than isolated instruments. Leadership that spans product, engineering and commercial functions can help those systems work together more coherently.
What the appointment signals
Teledyne says the promotion is intended to support innovation, operational performance and integrated solutions. The company is competing in a sector where software updates and system compatibility matter alongside physical hardware.
For leisure-boat owners, leadership changes are relevant when they shape product support and future development. Hildyard's appointment places an experienced operations and product executive at the centre of Raymarine's next phase of marine-electronics growth.
