North American market moves onto the programme
METSTRADE 2026 will put more emphasis on the North American recreational-boating market when the marine-equipment trade show returns to RAI Amsterdam from 17 to 19 November. NMMA says the North American Stage is returning in partnership with IBEX and Soundings Trade Only, with sessions covering market conditions, regulation and routes into the US and Canadian sectors.
The programme is relevant well beyond large-yacht suppliers because METSTRADE is a major meeting point for the companies that supply smaller production boats with engines, electronics, hardware, safety equipment, composites and onboard systems. For builders and suppliers serving boats under 12 metres, changes in certification, retail demand and distribution can move through the market quickly.
Compliance and market-entry questions
One scheduled session on 17 November will examine importing to North America, including compliance, certification and market entry, with participants from the US Coast Guard, NMMA and ABYC. A second session on 18 November is expected to give a broader North American market perspective, including current opportunities and challenges across the United States and Canada.
The stage will also look at the retail market, with a session involving West Marine chief executive Paulee Day, while other programming is expected to cover artificial intelligence in marine marketing and developments in boatbuilding. These topics make the event useful for tracking not only new products but the commercial conditions that determine which products reach boatbuilders and owners.
A useful source for LBG technology coverage
METSTRADE is scheduled for 17–19 November 2026 and will again include combined US and Canadian pavilions for companies seeking international contacts and export opportunities. NMMA says visitor registration is open, with free registration available through 31 October.
For Leisure Boat Guide, the show will be monitored primarily as a source of verified equipment and technology news rather than as a yacht event. New propulsion systems, electronics, deck hardware, materials and safety products unveiled there can all have direct relevance to the under-12m leisure-boat market.
