The Melges 15 Class Association, working with Little Egg Harbor Yacht Club, has announced the first Melges 15 Gold Cup. The event is scheduled for 16 to 19 September 2027 in Beach Haven, New Jersey.
Melges says the new Gold Cup is intended to bring leading Melges 15 teams together from around the world. The announcement adds another major event to the calendar of a small two-person dinghy class that has expanded rapidly since launch.
Creating a dedicated international championship gives owners another reason to remain active in the class after purchasing a boat. It also helps connect regional fleets through a common high-level event rather than leaving activity fragmented between local regattas.
