More regions join LightHouse Charts GEN2
Raymarine has expanded its LightHouse Charts GEN2 catalogue with new coverage for Chile, Peru and Japan. Further regions including Argentina, Uruguay, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei are planned as the catalogue grows.
The charts combine official hydrographic sources with Raymarine's presentation and customisable layers. Coverage expansion matters most to cruising boaters who want to keep a consistent chart system as they move between different regions.
Updates through Chart Manager
Most LightHouse Chart titles include a year of free updates through Raymarine's Chart Manager. That gives owners a way to refresh hazards, coastline detail and marine infrastructure without replacing the original chart card during the subscription period.
Up-to-date data is especially important in areas where buoyage, facilities or charted features change. Digital delivery shortens the gap between revised source data and the information a boat owner can load onto the plotter.
Customisable presentation
GEN2 charts are designed for Axiom displays and allow users to control layers according to the type of boating they are doing. A cruising crew may prioritise navigation aids and marina data while another user may want different depth or visual detail.
Reducing unnecessary information can make a chart easier to read on smaller leisure-boat screens. The aim is not simply to show more data, but to let the navigator see the information that matters for the current trip.
Global cruising becomes simpler
Adding Asia and South America increases the usefulness of one chart ecosystem for long-distance cruisers and travelling boat owners. It also reduces the need to learn a completely different interface simply because the boat has entered another region.
For most everyday boaters, the practical benefit remains straightforward: current charts and clear presentation. Expanded geographic coverage makes that same experience available to more owners and more cruising grounds in 2026.
