Marina technology receives recognition
The Monaco Smart and Sustainable Marina Rendezvous has announced its latest technology award results. The 2026 programme includes solutions for electric-boat charging, mooring loads and waterfront design.
These subjects affect everyday marina use as small electric craft become more common. A prize is not proof that a proposed system is already installed at a particular berth.
A mobile charging idea
Swiss company Kolbev received the pre-revenue distinction for a robotic charging concept. The mobile system is intended to serve boats at different berths without fitting each berth with a fixed connection.
Actual capacity, electrical safety and marina compatibility would still have to be assessed in a deployed system. Owners should check the equipment installed at a specific marina rather than rely on an award description.
Mooring and energy developments
Finland’s The Warming Surfaces Company was recognised for Halia heated surfaces. Italy’s Seares received the scaling-revenue prize for its SeaDamp mechatronic mooring system.
The two projects address separate engineering needs and should not be treated as interchangeable. Practical performance will depend on installation and conditions.
What the awards mean for boaters
The programme also recognised Nemo’s Garden and a Jasper Architects marina concept in Croatia. The variety shows how marina innovation extends beyond a boat’s propulsion system.
