A summer across Scottish clubs
RYA Scotland’s August Club Chat brought together examples of youth sailing, local events and volunteer activity. Its update includes West Highland Yachting Week and sessions at Peterhead Sailing Club.

Support for local events
RYA Scotland also describes support for Solway Yacht Club’s Cadet Week and Oban Sailing Club’s day on the water. These activities can introduce more people to organised boating and help existing young sailors develop.
Clubs should obtain the current eligibility rules before applying for future event assistance. Past support does not guarantee funding for every proposed activity.
A conference in Stirling
The Connected Conference is scheduled for 1 November at Stirling Court Hotel. RYA Scotland invites clubs, classes, training centres and affiliated organisations to share views and practical experience.
The announced forum has a role in connecting people who face similar challenges at local level. Registration and the final programme should be checked with RYA Scotland.
The wider role of volunteers
