Kawasaki has expanded its 2027 Jet Ski range with the new STX 310R and STX 310RX, two supercharged personal watercraft built around the same 1,498cc four-cylinder engine. Kawasaki describes the new STX 310 platform as its quickest-accelerating sit-down Jet Ski yet.
The two variants share the high-output mechanical package but target different owners. The 310R is more performance-focused, while the 310RX adds extra seating comfort and audio equipment for broader day use.
STX 310R focuses on the rider
The STX 310R uses a two-person sport seat, height-adjustable ERGO-FIT motocross-style handlebar and short rear grab bars. Kawasaki also fits Smart Steering, Smart Reverse with Deceleration, a rear-view camera and one-touch 5mph mode.
The specification is designed to keep the rider physically involved without stripping away modern convenience features. Built-in side cleats and a multi-mount system add day-to-day practicality around the dock.
310RX adds three-person comfort and audio
The STX 310RX changes the character of the same platform with a three-person premium seat and JETSOUND audio system. It also gains a meter visor, two-step rear grip and different colour and trim treatment.
That makes the RX a more versatile option for owners who want the 310 engine without the R model's more focused two-person layout. The distinction is therefore more substantial than a cosmetic trim package.
Supercharged power remains the headline
Both models use Kawasaki's supercharged and intercooled 1,498cc in-line four-cylinder marine engine. The 310R starts at a listed US base MSRP of $18,799, while the 310RX starts at $20,199 before destination and other charges.
High-output PWCs require appropriate experience, protective equipment and careful operating judgement. Buyers should also factor in fuel consumption and insurance because ownership costs can differ significantly from naturally aspirated recreational models.
