Deck access is a central design detail
The inverted bow and recessed side decks work with twin wheels to open the route forward and improve helm sightlines. The arrangement reflects Jeanneau's emphasis on making everyday movement aboard easier for a small crew.
Deck access still requires sensible footwear, appropriate handholds and a lookout. Any yacht intended for extended family cruising should be inspected with the actual sail handling and deck hardware installed.
Cabins and usable stowage
The official range offers two or three sleeping cabins, with Marc Lombard responsible for the naval architecture and Piaton Yacht Design working on the interior. A couple may value a different space allocation from a family with children or visiting friends.
Buying by berth count alone can lead to too little storage for sails, provisions and luggage. The individual plan should be compared with the duration of trips envisaged.
The published model figures
Jeanneau lists a 10.77-metre hull length, 130-litre fuel tank and a 330-litre water capacity in its cruising-range comparison. The brochure also distinguishes overall length with bowsprit, which reaches 11.75 metres.
Owners should use the fully fitted overall dimensions for berth calculations and check air draft and keel selection for the intended waters. A maker's layout is not a substitute for the final build certificate.
A current production design
The 380 is part of an established range and is not presented here as a boat newly delivered today. Buyers can assess it beside the smaller Sun Odyssey 350, which has already received separate technical coverage.
