A real-world test for the Series 2

Jeanneau has used a new two-part video feature to show how the Leader 9.0 CC Series 2 works both alongside the dock and in challenging open-water conditions. The second part takes the centre-console dayboat through Miami’s Haulover Inlet, giving owners a more useful picture of the hull and deck arrangement than a static boat-show presentation alone.

The model sits firmly inside Leisure Boat Guide territory, with Jeanneau listing an overall length of 8.3 metres. Its basic concept combines fishing capability with family day-boating, so the same cockpit has to move between open working space, social seating and watersports use without becoming overly specialised.

Flexible deck spaces are central

Jeanneau describes the Series 2 layout as an extension of the traditional centre-console format, with adaptable cockpit seating and equipment choices intended to support different uses during the same day. A fold-down side terrace increases access to the water, while the leaning-post area can be configured around cooking, refrigeration or fishing equipment depending on the owner’s priorities.

Below deck, the cabin gives the boat a useful retreat rather than turning it into a full cruising model. That balance matters at this size because many owners want shade, a head and somewhere to rest without accepting the weight and complexity of a larger enclosed boat.

Why the Haulover trial matters

Haulover Inlet is known for fast-changing water and strong traffic, so using it for a sea trial gives the demonstration more relevance than calm-water promotional footage. Jeanneau’s feature focuses on how the boat accelerates, turns and remains manageable while still preserving the open layout that attracts centre-console buyers.

For buyers comparing sub-10m family boats, the new material adds useful evidence about the Series 2 beyond its specification sheet. The Leader 9.0 CC remains a compact platform by LBG standards, but its combination of deck flexibility, shelter below and twin-outboard capability places it among the more versatile premium dayboats in the class.
