IBEX recognises 12 winners from 100 entries

The International BoatBuilders’ Exhibition and Conference has announced the winners of its 2026 Innovation Awards in Tampa. Judges selected 12 winners and three honorable mentions from 100 products entered by companies exhibiting at the show.

The programme is managed by the National Marine Manufacturers Association and judged by Boating Writers International. Awards were presented during the Industry Breakfast on 6 October, placing product innovation at the centre of the opening day of the three-day trade event.

Winning products span safety, maintenance and onboard systems

The awards cover a wide range of marine equipment rather than concentrating on one technology category. Among the recognised products were developments in boat care and maintenance, safety equipment, trailer systems and other onboard and production technologies intended to solve practical problems for builders, yards and operators.

That breadth matters to the superyacht supply chain because technologies developed for the wider recreational marine market can migrate into tenders, chase boats, crew craft and larger yacht systems. Conversely, higher-end materials and control concepts often move down through the market as production volumes increase.

Innovation Way keeps the entries visible to the trade

All products entered in the awards are being displayed along Innovation Way at the Tampa Convention Center during IBEX 2026. The show has also scheduled direct networking around the display so builders and suppliers can discuss the technology with the companies behind each entry.

For yacht builders and equipment specifiers, the awards provide a useful filter rather than a final purchasing verdict. Real-world reliability, integration, service support and lifecycle cost remain the important tests once a new product moves from a trade-show launch into production boats and working yachts.
