Seven boats inside the LBG size range
The new 4XC FRP series covers seven models between 5.5m and 9.5m, placing the whole announced range within Leisure Boat Guide territory. Honda says the line spans open and console layouts, giving buyers a spread of options for general leisure use, holidays and fishing rather than a single narrowly defined boat type.
Honda and BMA have also treated the boats as integrated packages rather than simply pairing an existing hull with an engine at the point of sale. Layout, equipment and recommended power have been matched to Honda outboards from the BF40 through to twin BF350 V8 installations, depending on the model.
A closer Honda-BMA partnership
The range was developed by Honda Marine’s research and development operation with BMA’s naval architects. Honda branding will appear on the hull for the first time in the 4XC project, while BMA receives a revised identity for the exclusive package, reinforcing the idea that boat and propulsion are being sold as one engineered product.
That matters for buyers because the package approach can simplify specification, servicing and warranty decisions. Honda says the boats will be sold through its European network, with aftersales support and servicing intended to sit within the same dealer structure as the engine package.
Power from BF40 to twin BF350 V8s
The scale of the range means there is a large difference in propulsion requirements from one end to the other. Smaller models are aimed at modest single-outboard installations, while the largest boats can be matched with twin BF350 V8s, giving Honda scope to cover family cruising, fishing and faster open-boat use under one 4XC umbrella.
BMA says its hull philosophy remains centred on modern, efficient forms and functional deck layouts. The important point for prospective owners is that each model is intended to be balanced around a recommended Honda installation rather than leaving the engine choice entirely open-ended.
Genoa debut and November availability
Honda plans to unveil the range at the Genoa International Boat Show from 1 to 6 October 2026, with sea-trial opportunities scheduled during the event. The boats are due to become available from November through the Honda network, giving the series a relatively short path from public debut to retail availability.
The FRP boats join Honda’s existing 4XC RIB programme developed with Altamarea. For LBG, the new BMA series is especially relevant because every announced model sits below 10 metres, adding another sizeable production-boat family to the part of the market we track most closely.
