Buster has introduced the fourth generation of its L series, renewing one of the Finnish builder’s established aluminium-boat families with four different deck and console arrangements. The new range measures 5.12 metres overall and is aimed at owners who want one compact hull to cover leisure trips, fishing, commuting and holiday-home duties.
The four versions are the L1, Lcc, L2 and Lx. The L1 uses a single side console, the Lcc moves the helm to a centre-console layout, the L2 adds a second console for greater passenger protection, and the Lx uses separate driver and passenger seats with seating for five behind the windscreens.
More usable space within a compact footprint
Buster says the new boat is 1.95 metres wide. Although the hull is marginally shorter and narrower than the previous generation, the redesign has increased usable interior dimensions. All four versions are self-draining for rainwater, a practical feature for boats that may spend long periods unattended at a dock or holiday property.
The Lx is rated for a maximum of 60hp, while the other versions are rated to 50hp. Buster quotes a top speed of around 28 knots with maximum power. The Lx also has a fixed 53-litre fuel tank, with a similar fixed tank available as a factory option on the other versions.
Fishing and leisure equipment
Options include Softdeck flooring, a harbour cover, a combined water-ski and equipment arch, rod storage, rod holders and seat cushions. Buster’s Q smart display can also be expanded with sonar, Fishfinder functions and the Guard package, which connects monitoring information including location, bilge status and battery voltage to the Buster App.
A Comfort Edition package adds seating cushions to the single-console versions and a canopy covering the aft section on the dual-console models. This keeps the L series positioned as a configurable platform rather than a boat intended for only one type of user.
Debut in Helsinki
Buster scheduled the fourth-generation L for its public debut at the Uiva Flytande In-Water Boat Show in Helsinki from 13 to 16 August 2026. The new range continues a model line that has been part of Buster’s portfolio since 1994.
