Award judges highlighted silence and handling

ESEA says the jury selected the F800 for the way it combines design, speed, technology and boating enjoyment with an almost silent propulsion system. The award was presented ahead of the 2026 HISWA te Water show in Lelystad.

The boat is intended to preserve the feel of fast leisure boating while reducing propulsion noise and vibration. ESEA describes that quieter character as a central part of the design rather than simply a consequence of replacing an internal-combustion engine.

An 8-metre platform with 20kW electric propulsion

The F800 measures 8.0 metres overall with a 2.638-metre beam and a 0.6-metre draft. It uses a 20kW steerable ePropulsion pod powered by a 96V 23kWh battery, with a second battery offered as an option.

ESEA lists a top speed of 12 knots and a normal cruising speed of 5 knots. The boat is certified for up to 10 passengers in CE design category C.

Range depends strongly on cruising speed

With two passengers, ESEA reports a tested range of about 57 nautical miles at 5 knots on a single battery. The optional dual-battery arrangement increases the quoted figure to about 109 nautical miles at the same speed.

As with any electric boat, range is highly sensitive to speed, loading, sea state and weather. Owners comparing electric dayboats should therefore look at expected use patterns rather than rely on a single maximum-range figure.

Smart systems are integrated into the boat

The F800 includes a digital helm showing battery, range and navigation data, while the ESEA app can monitor location, battery status and selected onboard systems. Route planning can also account for battery state and estimated travel time.

The hull is built in composite in Sweden by Vaxholm Komposit, with exterior design by Michael Leach Yacht Design and naval architecture by Thorne Yacht Design. ESEA lists a starting price of €119,000 excluding VAT.
