Cockwells Modern & Classic Boatbuilding has completed a 9.8m limousine tender created for Four Seasons Yachts. The finished boat is being shown during the 2026 Monaco Yacht Show after moving from design and construction into operational delivery.

Although built as a tender for a much larger vessel, its 9.8m length places it firmly inside Leisure Boat Guide’s scope. The project is therefore relevant as an example of what can be achieved in a compact high-specification passenger boat.

Eight guests travel in an enclosed cabin

The tender is arranged to carry eight guests in a climate-controlled enclosed cabin with large glazed areas. Cockwells has focused the interior on quiet travel, comfortable seating and easy boarding rather than maximising passenger numbers.

The design also includes substantial sound insulation and carefully integrated lighting and materials. Those features show how limousine-tender design borrows from luxury-car thinking while still having to cope with marine motion, spray and restricted space.

Twin Yanmar 250hp engines provide up to 35 knots

Power comes from twin Yanmar 250hp engines, with Cockwells quoting a maximum speed of around 35 knots. The propulsion package provides both the performance and redundancy expected from a tender that may make repeated guest-transfer runs.

For private owners, the same twin-engine arrangement would bring higher fuel, servicing and installation costs than a simpler dayboat. In this case the specification is driven by professional tender duties and the service expectations of the parent vessel.

Compact dimensions hide a complex build

At 9.8m, the boat has to combine machinery, guest accommodation, crew controls and boarding arrangements within a relatively short hull. That makes weight distribution and systems integration especially important.
