The Corsair name returns in an 8.4m package

Chris-Craft's new Corsair 27 measures 8.4 metres overall with a 2.5-metre beam, keeping it firmly inside Leisure Boat Guide's under-12-metre focus. The builder lists a dry weight of 2,803kg with the Mercury 380 installation and a loaded displacement of 3,963kg.

The defining visual feature is the enclosed teak foredeck, which replaces the open-bow arrangement found on many boats of this size. Chris-Craft says storage is incorporated beneath the foredeck so the styling change also creates usable volume.

A redesigned helm centres on Garmin electronics

The helm uses a Garmin 15X3 ultrawide display with a Chris-Craft user interface and Garmin Empiris digital switching. Navigation, lighting, power management and vessel monitoring can therefore be brought into a single integrated display environment.

Integration can simplify a compact helm, but owners should still understand which functions remain available if a display or network component fails. Good installation practice also means retaining clear access to essential physical controls and safety systems.

Sterndrive choices run from 300hp to 430hp

Chris-Craft lists Mercury and Volvo Penta sterndrive options ranging from 300hp to 430hp. The published specification allows a maximum engine output of 430hp, with Mercury SmartCraft Connect fitted as standard and options including Active Trim, SeaCore and selectable exhaust depending on engine choice.

The best engine choice will depend on loading, cruising style and local operating conditions rather than maximum power alone. Buyers should compare fuel use, service support, corrosion protection and low-speed handling as well as top-end performance.

Day-boat equipment extends the usable season

The Corsair 27 can be specified with a concealed manual or power-operated Bimini, bow thruster, cockpit refrigerator, windlass, premium audio, underwater lights and several teak packages. A fresh-water system with transom shower is listed as standard.

This equipment positions the boat as more than a simple runabout, but options can quickly add weight, complexity and cost. Prospective owners should prioritise the systems they will genuinely use and confirm the finished displacement before finalising a specification.
