Chaparral's 23 SSi OB brings a conventional open-bow layout to a 7.16-metre outboard-powered hull. The builder's 2026 specifications give it a 2.59-metre beam and a maximum engine rating of 250 horsepower.
A bowrider for shared outings
The cockpit, bow seating and swimming access are intended to serve day trips rather than overnight accommodation. A group can plan swimming, short scenic runs and a picnic aboard the same open craft.
Passenger seating needs to be combined with safe movement underway. Nobody should sit where the manufacturer or local rules prohibit it.
Published dimensions and carrying
The manufacturer lists a 212-litre fuel tank, 20-degree transom deadrise and a quoted dry weight with engine of about 1,542 kilograms. The NMMA capacity figure is 13 people or 801 kilograms.
People, cooler, water toys and other gear all contribute to the carried load. The plate and applicable local rules take precedence over a headline seating count.
Transport and storage
The published bridge-clearance figures vary significantly with an optional arch or its folded position. An owner towing or storing under cover needs the dimensions of the actual installed accessories.
Trailer, engine and fuel must be added to a road-weight calculation. A bare dry-weight figure is not an adequate towing specification.
A current 2026 boat specification
The 23 SSi is one member of Chaparral's current range and should be compared with the smaller 21 SSi on space and handling. Neither a sales price nor a new launch is asserted here.
