Chaparral's 2026 21 SSi OB uses an open bow and outboard engine to accommodate a family's day on the water. The manufacturer lists an overall length of 6.55 metres including its swimming platform and a 2.54-metre beam.
The basic layout
An open bow, wraparound windshield and cockpit seats support short passages, swim stops and time at anchor. An integrated swimming platform provides access close to the water when the engine is shut down.
A large party requires orderly boarding, safe seating and a defined place for every bag. Extra equipment cannot be allowed to obstruct exits or the helm.
Outboard and tankage
The builder lists a maximum rating of 200hp, a 151-litre fuel tank and a 20-degree deadrise. Actual propulsion and performance depend on the individual engine chosen.
Maximum horsepower is not a recommendation to drive at full throttle in every condition. Speed and fuel needs should be established through a properly arranged trial.
Dry weight and road use
The published dry weight with engine is about 1,361 kilograms, and the manufacturer lists an NMMA carrying limit of 12 people or 737 kilograms. These numbers do not include the complete towing load.
The road trailer, fuel, water and loose equipment change the final weight. Drivers should verify the tow vehicle, hitch, brakes and actual ready-to-road measurement.
A distinct model in the range
This standard 21 SSi OB differs from the Ski & Fish variant by its equipment and seating priorities. The latter has already been covered by LBG for its fishing-and-swimming lifestyle use.
