Two new routes to Canaline support
Engines Plus is expanding the Canaline support network for the UK inland-waterways market through two different appointments. FGL Marine has become an authorised Canaline dealer, while Marine Engines Direct has been named the first member of a new Canaline Engine Stockist network.
The distinction is important for owners because the dealer network is intended to provide local technical support and service, while the stockist model is focused on making complete engines available more quickly. Engines Plus says Marine Engines Direct will hold complete Canaline engines for immediate delivery, adding another route for customers who need replacement or new-installation units.
London service coverage grows
FGL Marine is based in London and works across engine repairs, vessel support and emergency assistance, giving Canaline a more direct service presence for customers in and around the capital. Engines Plus says the appointment is intended to combine product access with installation, servicing, genuine parts and technical knowledge.
For inland leisure boats, aftersales coverage can be as important as the original engine specification because many owners depend on local yards and mobile engineers rather than large coastal dealer centres. Faster access to complete engines and qualified support can therefore reduce downtime for cruisers, narrowboats and other powered craft operating on rivers and canals.
Building the inland-waterways network
Engines Plus describes the appointments as part of a continuing investment in Canaline’s UK proposition rather than isolated dealership changes. The company intends the two-channel structure to make engines, parts and technical help easier to obtain as the network develops.
The move is a useful example of the service infrastructure behind the leisure-boat market, where product availability alone does not determine ownership experience.
