The Buster SuperMagnum extends the open aluminium-boat concept to 7.40 metres and a published ten-person capacity. Its 2.50-metre beam and Yamaha outboard options make it a larger alternative to the standard Magnum for busy family or club use.

A spacious open arrangement

The builder describes redesigned consoles, upright windscreens and improved passenger protection. A U-shaped rear sofa is standard, and the forward area can be adapted with rod boxes for fishing or remain available for other activities.

Seating arrangements should be checked on the exact build rather than judged from a picture with optional equipment. Passenger number and maximum load are separate limits that must both be observed.

Navigation at the centre console

The second-generation 16-inch Buster Q smart display combines electronic charts, weather and engine information. An optional second screen can give the navigator a separate place to inspect a chart without taking over the skipper's primary display.

Electronic screens can improve presentation but depend on their power supply and data. Sound seamanship requires current charts, a lookout and a backup appropriate to the passage.

Power and payload

Buster lists 225–350hp engine options, a 300-litre fuel tank and 1,101 kilograms of maximum load. The builder's 52-knot upper speed is a model figure, not a promise when carrying a full group and kit.

A buyer should calculate fuel, engine and people against the actual plate before assuming that the maximum occupancy and maximum luggage can be carried simultaneously.

Where it fits

A seven-metre open dayboat can suit archipelago commuting, fishing and summer outings without the accommodation of a cabin cruiser. The choice between Magnum and SuperMagnum should account for mooring space and storage as well as seats.
