Clyde Marina adds 280 serviced berths
The Ardrossan site includes 280 fully serviced marina berths, boatyard facilities, fuel and hospitality. It sits around 30 miles from Glasgow with access to Scotland's west-coast cruising grounds and islands.
That location makes it relevant to small cruising boats, trailerable craft moving into longer passages and owners who want a base close to the Clyde and western islands. The location also places owners close to ferry links, road access and west-coast services.
The deal also includes Sunbird yacht sales
Sunbird International Yacht Sales becomes part of the Aquavista group through the transaction. The company has not disclosed the purchase price, investment plans or staffing changes.
Combining marina and brokerage services can give owners more support in one location, although the practical benefit will depend on how the businesses are integrated after the acquisition. Sunbird adds an established sales presence alongside the existing marina and boatyard activity.
Aquavista now spans all sides of Britain
Clyde joins coastal sites at Glasson, Hull, Birdham Pool and Royal Clarence, extending Aquavista's presence across the north, east, south and west of Britain. The company also operates a larger network of inland marinas.
Existing Clyde Marina customers will gain access to wider-network schemes including Explore 100 and Marina Swap. Those programmes can be useful to owners who cruise between several regions during a season. That broader footprint may give berth holders more flexibility when planning seasonal cruising.
The marina provides access to west-coast cruising
Scotland's west coast offers sheltered waters, islands and a strong mix of sailing and motor-boating destinations. A well-equipped base at Ardrossan can therefore support everything from short local trips to longer island itineraries.
For LBG owners, marina changes matter when they improve practical access, service support and berth flexibility. The next question will be what capital investment Aquavista chooses to make at the site. Future investment will determine how quickly customers see changes under the new ownership.
