Malibu has redesigned the 26 LSV for 2027 as the largest model in its traditional-bow LSV wake-boat family. The hull measures 8.05m overall with a 2.59m beam, and the manufacturer rates the boat for up to 18 people.
Dry weight is listed at 3,175kg and fuel capacity at 435 litres. Those figures underline that this is a large trailerable-style towboat intended for substantial crews, high ballast loads and long days on the water.
Factory ballast reaches 6,100lb
The 26 LSV can carry up to 6,100lb of factory ballast, equivalent to about 2,767kg. Malibu combines that ballast with Surf Gate Fusion and Power Wedge technology to shape wakes and surf waves without relying solely on moving passengers around the boat.
The large ballast capacity also means operating weight can change dramatically between cruising and watersports setup. Owners need to account for passengers, fuel, gear and ballast when considering ramp depth, tow-vehicle limits and safe loading.
Engine options extend to 607hp
Malibu lists maximum engine output of 607hp with 670ft-lb of torque for the 26 LSV. The hull uses the company’s Wake Plus design, while a 32in draft and wide beam reflect the boat’s focus on stability and watersports performance.
The maximum horsepower figure is only one part of the ownership decision because the boat may spend much of its time at controlled tow speeds. Fuel use, service access, local noise limits and the expected loaded displacement are equally relevant when selecting an engine.
Redesigned transom adds more usable space
The 2027 model introduces a full-width transom with convertible rear-facing seating and Malibu’s latest interior arrangements. The intention is to make the stern more useful when the boat is stopped for swimming, relaxing or preparing riders.
