Kawasaki has introduced the 2027 Jet Ski Ultra 160LX Adventure as a purpose-built long-distance version of its naturally aspirated Ultra platform. The model keeps the 1,498cc in-line four-cylinder engine while adding equipment aimed at riders who spend longer periods away from the launch ramp.
The Adventure sits apart from the standard Ultra 160LX through its navigation, protection and carrying equipment. Kawasaki is clearly targeting touring use rather than simply applying a new colour scheme to an existing PWC.
Garmin navigation becomes part of the package
The model is equipped with a seven-inch Garmin ECHOMAP chartplotter in addition to Kawasaki's own seven-inch TFT instrumentation. The combination gives the rider dedicated route and chart information alongside normal vehicle data and smartphone-connected functions.
Navigation electronics can improve confidence on longer outings, but they do not remove the need for conservative route planning and awareness of local conditions. Riders should still plan fuel, weather and emergency options before treating a PWC as a long-range touring craft.
Extra protection for longer days afloat
Kawasaki adds a protective windshield, splash guards and side floats to reduce exposure and improve stability around the deck. The model also uses a flat three-person bench seat with thick cushioning, making passenger comfort a larger part of the design brief.
Multi-mount rails and stainless steel utility pipes provide attachment points for additional equipment. The boat also carries Kawasaki's JETSOUND 4s audio system, storage compartments and built-in side cleats.
A touring PWC rather than a performance flagship
The Ultra 160LX Adventure does not use Kawasaki's supercharged 310-series engine, so its emphasis is on manageable performance and range rather than maximum acceleration. Power mode selection, launch control, cruise control and electric trim are nevertheless included in the equipment list.
Kawasaki lists the new 2027 model at a base US MSRP of $21,199 before destination and other charges. Regional specifications and pricing can vary, so buyers should confirm the final market package with their local Kawasaki dealer.
