Kawasaki has introduced the 2027 Jet Ski SX-X 160 as a new stand-up personal watercraft powered by a 1,498cc four-stroke in-line four-cylinder engine. The model is designed to provide accessible stand-up riding while retaining the agile character associated with Kawasaki's SX line.
The SX-X 160 uses a fixed motocross-style handlebar rather than the moving pole arrangement associated with some traditional stand-up PWCs. That creates a different riding position and gives the craft a more integrated upper-body control layout.
A rider-active V-shaped hull
Kawasaki says the lightweight hull is designed for a balance of stability and strong cornering performance. The hull architecture is related to the SX-R 160 platform and incorporates Kawasaki's splash-deflector system around the forward section.
A large standing deck gives the rider room to move weight around during turns and acceleration. Because stand-up craft depend heavily on rider input, handling technique remains an important part of using the available performance safely.
Four-stroke power broadens the appeal
The naturally aspirated 1,498cc engine provides four-stroke power without the supercharger used on Kawasaki's fastest sit-down models. Kawasaki also includes Smart Steering, a magnetic ignition key and a wrist-lanyard engine-stop system.
The fuel tank holds 6.1 US gallons, reflecting the compact stand-up format rather than a long-distance touring brief. Integrated flotation and drain plugs support routine ownership and post-use maintenance.
New stand-up option for 2027
Kawasaki lists the SX-X 160 as a new 2027 model with a US base MSRP of $11,999 before destination and other charges. Race-inspired graphics and a full-circumference bumper complete the production specification.
