2027 Kawasaki STX 160 Range Adds Rear Camera, New Deck and 160R

Kawasaki has expanded the 2027 Jet Ski STX 160 family, adding new equipment and a racing-inspired STX 160R alongside the established recreational versions. The range continues to use a naturally aspirated 1,498cc four-stroke engine while differentiating models through deck layout, controls and comfort equipment.

The STX 160X is listed at 3.31m long and 1.18m wide, with seating for three people and a 20.6 US gallon fuel tank. Kawasaki also gives the model 35 US gallons of storage, keeping the STX firmly in the practical family-PWC category.

Extended rear deck broadens day-to-day use

The 2027 STX platform adds a larger rear deck on selected versions, creating more usable space when boarding from the water or preparing gear. Kawasaki’s multi-mount arrangement is designed to support accessories without permanently turning the craft into a single-purpose model.

A rearview camera appears on higher-specification versions, helping riders check the area behind the craft during low-speed manoeuvring. It does not replace a proper lookout, but it can add useful visibility around docks, swimmers and tow-sports activity.

STX 160R brings a more sporting setup

The new STX 160R adds an adjustable motocross-style handlebar, sport grips, a lower rear grab bar and a high-grip seat. Kawasaki is positioning it as the more performance-oriented member of the naturally aspirated STX 160 family rather than as a higher-output engine variant.

The broader range also includes STX 160X, LX-S and LX versions, with equipment stepping up through lighting, audio and comfort features. Buyers therefore need to compare trim as carefully as price because the core engine platform is shared across several distinct use cases.

Electronic rider aids remain part of the package

Kawasaki lists electronic cruise control, electric trim, Smart Reverse with Deceleration and one-touch 5mph mode among the available rider aids. Those systems are intended to make a high-output personal watercraft easier to manage in everyday recreational use.
