Toyota Corolla Marks 60 Years With New Anniversary Editions

Toyota is marking the Corolla’s 60th anniversary with special Hatchback, Touring Sports and Sedan editions featuring unique styling and hybrid powertrains.

Toyota is celebrating 60 years of the Corolla with special-edition Hatchback, Touring Sports and Sedan models. The anniversary versions add unique colours, 17-inch wheels, commemorative details and upgraded equipment while retaining the hybrid powertrains that keep Corolla relevant as an everyday family car.

Three body styles carry the anniversary treatment

Toyota is offering 60th Anniversary editions of the Corolla Hatchback, Touring Sports and Sedan. The Hatchback and Touring Sports use Boreal Blue metallic paint with a contrasting black roof and pillars, while the Sedan receives its own Lunar Sky Blue finish.

For leisure use, the Touring Sports is the most obvious fit because its estate body offers more flexibility for luggage and outdoor gear. Buyers who need less space can choose the Hatchback without giving up the anniversary specification.

Hybrid power remains at the centre of the range

The anniversary models continue with Toyota’s fifth-generation hybrid technology. Hatchback and Touring Sports buyers can choose between a 1.8-litre system producing 140 DIN hp and a 2.0-litre system with up to 178 DIN hp, while the Sedan uses the 1.8-litre setup.

That keeps the Corolla focused on quiet, efficient everyday driving rather than turning the milestone edition into a performance exercise. For long weekends and routine family use, predictable fuel economy and easy operation are more useful than extra complexity.

The cabin gains the equipment expected from a modern family car

Toyota includes a 12.3-inch digital driver display and 10.5-inch Toyota Smart Connect+ touchscreen across the latest Corolla range. Cloud-based navigation, live traffic information and over-the-air updates are included in the broader digital package.

The anniversary cars also retain Toyota T-Mate safety and driver-assistance systems. Those features matter on longer trips because they support the normal motorway and urban driving that makes up most real-world family travel.

A familiar car gets a useful milestone update

Toyota says more than 57 million Corollas have been sold worldwide since the nameplate first appeared in 1966. The anniversary edition therefore works best as a modest celebration of a very familiar car rather than a radical reinvention.

Orders are already open, with customer deliveries due from the end of October. For LBG readers, the Touring Sports in particular offers an accessible mix of hybrid efficiency, practical luggage space and everyday usability for ordinary weekends away.
